BILLINGHAM TOWN v WASHINGTON PREVIEW
MITRE BROOKES MILESON LEAGUE CUP GROUP B

Towns third group game out of four comes against division two side Washington. A win tonight could be enough to take Town through to the next round depending on results elsewhere in the coming weeks. Billlingham’s last fixture is next Wednesday at Sunderland RCA.

TOWN TALK:
Unsurprisingly, there will be several lads who will be rested or are unavailable; they include Brad Young, Jamie Davis, Jamie Poole and Jack Connor. Matty Robinson is another absentee as he continues to work during midweek fixtures but Paul Roddam returns to the squad. Ash Lavan has been given the go ahead to begin training and could be back in action in a couple of weeks time. Three of the under 23’s will also be added to the squad; Connor Hudson and Leeton Sutton have already figured so far but Connor Gayles is a new addition. Liverpool born and ex Marine goalkeeper Oliver Sharnon should sign in time for the game and will make his debut on the night.

LAST ENCOUNTER:
2018/19 NL2: Billlingham Town 5 (Lavan 4, Hutchinson) Washington 3 (Pattison, Ramshaw 2)

RECENT RESULTS:
Washington 0-1 Sunderland West End
Crook Town 3-0 Washington - LC GB
Heaton Stannington 2-1 Washington (McGeoch)
Washington 6-4 Willington (McGeoch, Salicki, Hanson 3, Dixon)
Washington 1-5 Sunderland (Hennis) - DCC PR
Washington 2-2 Brandon United (McGeoch, Toward)
Washington 0-2 Crook Town - EAMC 1R
Knaresbrough Town 2-1 Washington (McGeoch) - FA Vase 2QR

*ONE TO WATCH: JAK HANSON
Hat-trick in Washington’s recent 6-4 win against Willington. One of their stand-out players in Town’s scrappy 1-0 win at the Nissan Sports Complex last season. Only nineteen but a bright future and should go onto better things.

NEXT UP: EBAC NORTHERN LEAGUE DIVISION ONE
Saturday 5th October: Billlingham Town v Thornaby 3:00pm

* Subject to availability and selection
