100% & this season! The land has been bought, they’ve improved the pitch, they are erecting a fence this season, put a stand up & improve the ground facilities.

Don’t think floodlight will be a problem to blue star . Seem to have wealthy backing.

Thats good and fine, but if they are planning on doing it this season like Windy says, they need to get a move on. I thought you needed the dressing room to the pitch all cordoned off? Its a 100m walk from the dressing rooms to the pitch at Blue Star so plenty work to do yet.

I was promoted to the NL with Stokesley, and there was a bit of an argument re the distance to pitch, but ultimately it was accepted. Jarrow also have a bit of a walk, but as long as you can segregate a walk-way I think it's acceptable.

Agree they'll need to make progress quickly if they want to go up this year though!

If they gain promotion im sure they dont have to have floodlights in place until September of that season . They need to show they have the planning permission and funding in place which i am sure the funding will be. Depends on the planning , with 200 plus at their last game surely the local council will see that as a good interest and grant it no problem.

How will they implement turnstiles etc at Blue Star? Isn't the field on which the pitch is located a public area / public right of way? Can they fully "fence off" the ground?

Got one of our ex players there who has seen the plans they have submitted. if he is right it will be quite a stadium.

Hmm, a stadium on a local park field in Scotswood? Something tells me its porkies Colin. There would need to be a lot of money spent on it. Im sure things like access to toilets etc would be an issue too as the pitch is quite a walk from the bar etc.

From time to time, clubs at this level always pop up with grand plans and rarely deliver them. I'm sure The Leam were building a NL ground with floodlights last year or the year before despite the obvious issue with power cables that would surely limit floodlight permission. Not aware of anything happening there, and thats just one of many examples.

I've not been to Blue Stars ground, but from the sounds of it they're not going to be ready to move up this season, just too much to do

You could be right, According to Millsy the plans are for new changing rooms with a new stand and floodlights to be ready for next season. Bar located on top of the stand as per Ashington
