CLS magnificent unbeaten run came to an end when Tow law probably deserved to shade this game against a much depleted CLS. The home side shorn of Heslop, Mickle, Marron, Stafford, Mole, Reynolds and McGill from the usual squad for various reasons called in Tony Healer at short notice and Tony as usual gave his all despite having played an over 40's game on the morning. Tow Law brought a big strong physical side to CLS on a great run having seen off Team Northumbria recently and showed good intent without really troubling Aidy in goal. The first half was tough and physical and ended 0-0. The game actually looked like a 0-0 until twenty minutes into the second half Dicka picked up a ball inside his own half and advanced thirty yards and hit an unstoppable shot into the top corner - a goal of the season contender. This fired Tow law a bit and they came back a few minutes later with the centre half planting a header home from a corner having been given the freedom of CLS six yard box!!!! the same player scored the winner with about ten left from another corner forcing home after a tremendous tip onto the bar from Aidy and a scramble on the CLS line. CLS couldn't muster another chance so the score remained 1-2. Full marks for effort from CLS today but we just couldn't get anything going moving forward. Credit to Tow law who will take some more scalps this season if they continue to play for each other as they did on Saturday.

Full of credit for tow law defended very very well however very disappointed with us. Yes lots missing but we had a strong enough 11 out to win that game but it passed some lads by unfortunately. Apart from kegs and graver I don't think I heard any other player speak out on the park.

That been said a superb run has come to an end and we have to start again.
MOM Dicka by a country mile

Superb run, great performances, excellent points haul and a fantastic team spirit ..... take the defeat as an off day ...... South shields tomorrow night a great game to look for a response.

Looking at the list of players missing that's the heart and the soul ripped out the side ..... battling performances in defence. In Maz's absence we need that bit of nous in the middle that Robbie Draper or Derek Waters added last season.

Onwards onwards !

MOTM: Dicka ..... superb goal
