I think it’s a good thing and will improve the standard of the league. It’s been a closed shop, with only promotion and relegation between itself and the Northern League. Hopefully this’ll happen every season.

True. Some Teams seemed to finish bottom every season and get some hammerings but avoid relegation. It also helps ambitions clubs below the top division

I had expected to see Ryhope CW in this league. They must have folded altogether.

Renamed to Hetton Town, there was a Ryhope CW badge on the team and picture of the players with the red and white kit on the leagues website but now it's different - i'm guessing with the leaving of the first team in the northern league the U23's wanted to separate and rename

EDIT : The U23's team finished 3rd in the 2021/22 Season and i clicked on the U23's name on the league table and it came up with the Hetton Town club page

Wonder what will become of rhyopes ground. Still a good amount of teams in the league and promotion and relegation makes things more interesting. Lets hope most actually finish the season

Belongs to the council I believe. Used by over 40s and Sunday league sides.
