Durham City.

Despite all the pomp, wind and pi*s, a very poor start for Durham.

It's early days, but I've said it before and will say it again, you need genuine Northern league people who know the league and players the same.

I've been to a couple of the games. It is early days and lots of injuries apparently. Going forward they've got a couple players who can play levels above, defensively they have been atroscious albeit with a lot of personnel change from game to game. They lack a structure and organisation. I still think they could finish anywhere from 1st-20th

I hope they turn it around and I think the way they have marketed the management etc has been fantastic, Durham needs a successful club, I could be a million miles wrong but personally, just can't see it at the moment.

On a side note Durham Women have moved to the new University stadium at Maiden Castle. This would have been ideal for Durham City, shame it hasn't been able to happen.

Can't get my head around that to be honest surely if that was available as supposedly the City's club they would move heaven and earth to play from there..

If you check you will find that Durham Womens FC and the Uni are linked together.

So why dont durham link with the uni, plenty of students there from around the globe who could get cheap season tickets. Has there been any attempts of a link up in the past?

I will have to chose my words carefully here, shall we say the Uni know of the clubs chequered past and they simply aren't interested.......but that's just my opinion

The club has informed us they did look to go there this season and held numerous meetings and the only real concern was a night to be made available for midweek games.
A new stand etc is to be built and was meant to be done by January along with new changing rooms until the Covid problems but then the centre informed the club they had been advised not to play as many hours on the pitch as they had been doing and as the students had priority advised the club that at this time they were unable to let them play but would be in touch if anything changed .

Hope something can be sorted for you in the future. Willingtons ground is decent enough but been there must surely have lost the club a few fans

Rumours now of unregistered players on the bench for Durham in the cup game.
Surely that won't be the case management may not be NL experience but lots of good committee men who are...

All the players listed were registered by 11.00am Saturday 18th September.
Whether or not the names applied to the players present, is a matter for conjecture.
I have believed for a long time that all players should have photographic identity cards.
