Checking Washington's fixtures - first 12 league games are away, they going to play in the FA Vase game at home against Guisborough at Washington FC in the ground section of Washington fixtures

When Gary and Lee (and others) took over Washington, lots of people were critical and I said they were good people who would try to do the right thing.

I think we can now all see that they are systematically trying to build a club progressively and sensibly.

There are comments here on Albany Park which are unfair. At one point that was a top venue until Camerons Brewery began to be a drain.

Albany park was awful, at least in its later days. Club house was massive but looked really shabby

I played there in 1990 as a school boy and it was a fantastic experience.

I coached my son's U17 team there in 2017 and it was pitiful.

Albany park now a housing estate. Just hope the locals leave Washingtons new ground alone. It is well off the beaten track next to the new Washington sports hub very much out of the way. Good luck to them.

As well as vandalism i think alot of its demise was due to camerons brewery, they sure had some un-savoury people running it

Just got in from the Washington game and have to say it’s very impressive to say the least . Pitch was excellent and I can see it becoming one of the best , once they get the clubhouse up :x  and running it will be a great facility. Goes to show hard work pays off . I wish them every success . Not when they play Birtley tho . :x
