Canny game at Boldon welfare. Boldon two up but capitulated. Wasn't to impressed with the Ryton fan who deliberately hoofed a ball onto the pitch to try and get the game stopped while Boldon were on the attack. Desperate. Best of luck to Ryton. They deserve to be up there.

Picking some good games lately. Ryhope cw could cause a lot of teams problems this year judging by last nites performance.

Consett were good as expected, the kid Carr was brilliant, never stopped. Think they would be my team to beat for the league from the teams I’ve seen so far

Jesus christ, not very often you see 10-0’s even at northern league level, still a tad off the northern league record which i believe was 16-0

South Bank beating North Skelton Rovers 21-0 rings a bell, although I think that was back in the 1890's.

If he could confirm the postwar record defeat as well then that'd be "Grande", I didn't have any joy.

:(

David, believe or not, I wasn't around in the 1890s  Mind, I think I did read that in Northern Conquest.

South Bank beat North Skelton Rovers 21-0 on April 29th 1895. It was 9-0 at half time.

North Skelton only had 2 seasons in the Northern League and left at the end of the 1894-5 season

Oddly, South Bank scored 1/3 of their seasons goals in the one match ( 21 of 64 ) . They finished second in the league that season ( second of 10 )

Scores of over 10 were not unusual in the early years of the league, for instance South Bank beat Scarborough 16-1 in 1919 .

The post war record has to be hordens 16-1 defeat of Cleveland bridge in the 90s. Unless anyone knows of higher scores

Didn’t Bedlington beat Stokesley 16-0 about 7 or 8 years ago?
