In this article, I publish an old piece I produced looking at the financial problems faced by Northern League clubs.

The article was written a couple of years ago, but it's still very appropriate to the challenges faced by Northern League clubs.

I liked the match official expenses sheet. When I was Club Treasurer it used to both bemuse and annoy me the number of times the officials came up with excuses not to travel together. Coming straight from work, even on a Saturday, was the most common one! On the other hand I might have done the same. The basic match fee is not much for the length of time away from home and probably having to put up with abuse from both players and spectators.

Yeah, I think it started happening at Brandon not long after I did this article.

Here's the next one.

And here's the last of the five articles.

https://wp.me/p4i04N-64y

In this article, I publish an old conclusive piece looking at problems faced by Northern League clubs.

It then goes on to look at the success stories which can follow problematic times.

Good article connor. Lee stewart made a good point about a struggle getting locals interested. Theres often folk dont bother going to see there local non league side even occasionally or even know what league they play in! Theres alot of kids think football does not exist outside the premier league. Good points about facilities too, theres a few clubs in the wearside league that have the area for a northern league team but im guessing facilities are holding them back. Things are getting better, hardly any teams had new, purpose built stadiums 20 year ago now theres a few.
