while im happy with more games maybe the league should have floated the idea of a competition with other leagues. Just think u could end up facing the same team 10 times in the same season!

Ah its a good idea, dunno about the seeded teams part mind. It would be more fun to have a random draw where you may end up with a few of the stronger teams grouped together making it more interesting once the knock is stage is drawn

That would be my preference to be honest, as said previously could end up playing same team around 6 times.

This will be fun if we get a bad winter and the league still wants to finish by mid to late april. In bad winters we have had no end of problems fitting in all the league matches never mind more cup games.

The league is trying to add more games in, due to the numbers lowering.
Personally think there is no need considering most teams enter 5 cup competitions, which is ridiculous.

Speaking from the viewpoint of a modest sized second division club, home midweek games (particularly E Armstrong Cup games) are almost always loss-makers for us, so I was a more than a little disappointed when reading about this initiative, the recent relief of having four less league fixtures, pretty much wiped out overnight.

Could start this competition during the summer and get rid of some pre season friendlies.

Totally agree and they could so the same with county cups with the finals been the season curtain raiser. Alot of teams particularly the top end of non league field 2nd string sides anyway

As bad as the Checkatrade Trophy. I'm hoping NTFC play a few academy players in these games.

I just don't agree with seeding in any competition, should be luck of the draw regardless of competition

Cant see the benefit of the extra games tbh . Home games dont show much revenue with having to split the gate. I would be quite happy for the home teams to keep the revenue anyway. Its the luck of the draw really if you are drawn at home then you make a few quid if not there's no expense apart from your normal away costs. Vase games yes , split as you could get a canny travel. I just hope we have more midweek home games early in the season. Dont think its worth gambling on having a mild winter.

Not for me tbh. To much work to be done regarding pitch maintenance and other jobs around the ground to be done during the summer months. Only real time available to get the work done.

Firms still accommodate pre season friendlies with all the ground maintenance going on. Why not replace those with county cup games
