Hebburn Town FC have reluctantly accepted the resignation from first team manager Scott Oliver with immediate effect.

The club would like to put on record its sincerest thanks to Scott for his loyal and dedicated service during his spell at the club as a manager and a player before that.

We have had some magnificent times with Scott not to mention a promotion from the Northern League Second Division last season along with a great FA Vase run and finishing runners-up in the Northern League First Division this season.

The club would like to wish Scott well for his future.

No further comment will be made by the club at this time.

Absolutely good luck, Bit of a shock tbh. Top lad who has spent a lot of years with Hebburn also as a player. Be a few offers for Scott to mull over no doubt. Great lad who i hope is straight back with a new job.

Hiya Scott there’s not as big a kitty as you think there is for next season. Ok I’m gone. In comes big name (Julio) maybe Martin gray. Welcome to the club spend what u need to get us to the next level. Or words to that effect.

They have a very good man in waiting IMO, Kev Bolam manager of the reserves won the Wearside this season, former Newcastle scout and I know is a very level headed good coach/manager.

They wouldn't go far wrong going down this route if Kevs up for it and they have the nounce to promote from within...

My thoughts aswell. No disrespect to Kev who is also a great chap but I think there’s a bigger name than him inbound.

On a slightly different issue (but Hebburn related)

Have Hebburn Town got desires for their reserves to play in the Northern League ?

It would be the first time I can remember a step 4 Club (if Hebburn got promoted ) having a reserves only 2 steps down.

I agree its different but lets look what is in a name..
The two mentioned (which have now been removed from here for some reason) what have they achieved in "Northern league management" yes its a different ball game. ;-)

Kev would have more chance of getting them out of this league in my humble opinion, even if it is just for this season, a good football man with a great knowledge of the game, good and stable financial brain, and good connections, a big name isnt always the answer just throwing money at the job..

I agree though I doubt they will even consider it.

Pretty certain they applied this year, so yes I would think so

Bit of a longshot. Alun Armstrong looks like he's on his way out at Blyth Spartans. I wonder.

What about Ben Clarke and his back room staff , I’m sure he would have been impressed with the Hebburn set up while training there and maybe been told the plans for the future , if the takeover dosent happen at Gateshead would he want to stop , he’s done a great job under the circumstances.

Another decent job has come up at Darlington Tommy Wright has left the club , could throw a spanner in the works if Hebburn looking as well , the merry go round has started .
