From a Birtley point of view i have to say it's been a very enjoyable season , eventual mid table finish is a good start which i'm sure we would have took at the start of the season.
Certainly one of the worst injury ravaged seasons i've ever known but we got through it .
The players have been fantastic and our management team, although experienced have done a brilliant job in their first season at this level. Very strong committee have backed the Management and players from the start which has been rewarded with some great displays over the season.
Support has trebled since our last venture into the Northern League and continues to grow. Sponsorship is also guaranteed for next season.
Good times ahead so thanks to everyone who has done their bit over the last 3 years not only on the field but off the field also. See you in August.

If you asked a Bishops fan that we would finish 3rd this season after last years struggles then you have to look at the season as a good one.

Squad depth and some discipline issues perhaps held us back from being closer to Dunston in the end - that is something we need to improve on for next season to ensure we finish top 3 (promotion) again. There were passages of the season where we looked the business, regularly hitting sides for 4s, 5s and 6s and then periods where we ground out results but ultimately finished the season on our bottoms so to speak with a very tough run of games and a depleted squad.

I would be happy for us to keep the core of the squad and add a bit more here and there. Already relishing the start of 2019-20 season with a hungry, fresh, revitalised squad!

From looking like we might not even make it through the summer, to winning the league is something we couldn't even dream of. Unbelievable season for us at Billingham. :D

Non league has been a season of shocks for sure and well done to birtley. One thing that were not a shock was Durham city. Might still be spared relegation

Mixed emotions here.
Disappointed not to go up last season, needing a win on the last day of the season (or Whickham to lose) , we get a draw and Whickham win, then this season be the first Club in 37 years to finish 3rd and not obtain promotion.

On the plus side, average attendances well up, new floodlights and improvement with infrastructure , and a EA Cup victory are the highlights.

You might still go up. 3 teams need to be moved into NL1

Why do three teams need to be moved?

Do people read other posts? Or not believe them? Their will be no extra promotion spots on offer. The FALC will laterally transfer the nearest step 5 club(almost certainly ex-NL club Knaresborough Town. Admittedly they were in the league at the start of the 20th Century).

But if knaresborough get transfered then it will leave there league short too. I know the fa have rules but im sure they can be bent this season due to the league been short of clubs

Makes good sense to me.

They won’t be short of clubs. The newly formed North Ferriby(NFU Phoenix club)will be placed in that league. AFC Mansfield will be demoted into that league. Campion or Grimsby Borough will be promoted into the NCEL Prem. With extra clubs being relegated/promoted into the NWCL Prem, Silsden will almost certainly be laterally transferred to the NCEL Prem. Lateral transfers have been quite commonplace over the past few seasons in other leagues. Because of the NL geographic isolation, it hasn’t occurred yet for this league. By expanding the NL footprint into North Yorkshire, this will allow the FALC to move teams between the NCEL & NL. Same with north Cumbria. Allowing the FALC to laterally transfer teams between the NWCL & NL. Admittedly we are currently talking about 6 clubs: Knaresbough Town, Harrogate RA, Northallerton, Penrith, Carlisle City & Cleator Moor Celtic. So when people talk about the lack of feeder league clubs with the correct facilities. Keep an eye out for these clubs to end up being moved back & forth to fill the gaps over the coming seasons. As for the neighbouring leagues losing these clubs. Well those leagues have more neighbouring step 5/6 leagues than the NL & this in turn allows lateral transfers from those leagues.

So we are almost definitely going to get Knaresborough Town in the ENL1 next season?

I think the reference to 3 clubs (or is it potentially 4?) going up is at the end of next season with the extra Step 4 division?

I can’t see another viable option. Especially after the FA released the footprint maps for the season after next & North Yorkshire being placed into the NL.

The sweet feeling of mid table mediocrity, rather than looking over our shoulder like Crook Town have for the past 3 seasons. A word of warning to the rest of the second division the sleeping giant is stirring.
