MATCH INFO:
Northern League Division Two
Saturday 30th March, Hall Lane, Willington, Kick Off 3:00 pm.
Willington: Blue & White Shirts, Blue Shorts.
Town: All Red.
Officials: Jonathan Schofield, Connor Kitson, Barry Mudd.

*FOCUS ON WILLINGTON:
It’s amazing to think that Willington have not won a game since the 12th January against Birtley Town! Since that victory, striker Matty Moffat left for Tow Law Town and fellow forward Jonathan Wright only lasted a month before he signed for Whitley Bay. Other players to have left include Clark Kay to Whickham. Last week, Steve Riley took the helm and wasted no time in bringing in four new faces. Yesterday, Riley signed Ricky Fenwick from Bishop Auckland and Ryu Williamson from Newton Aycliffe. In midweek, John Jury came in from Sunderland RCA and Stuart Thompson from Newton Aycliffe. No doubt Riley has brought in new players with next season in mind but Willington have also suffered from crippling injuries since Christmas. Former blue Craig Ruddy will be all set to start in midfield alongside Jeff Smith who scored in the 1-2 reversal fixture which required two added on time goals to secure the three points for Billingham Town.

ONE TO WATCH: DEAN THEXTON
Division Two top scorer for last season, pipping our very own Ash Lavan to the title. Thexton was at Tow Law Town at the time and also began the current campaign at the Lawyers. Penalty taker.

*On behalf of Chairman Paul Beddow and the club, we wish Willington Chairman Richard Tremewan a speedy recovery after taking ill during the recent cup tie at Chester Le Street Town. We understand he has moved from Newcastle hospital to Durham which is closer to his home town. Richard is an enthusiastic character within the Northern League scene and we look forward to seeing him back on his feet in the near future.

2016/17 Willington 0 Billingham Town 2 (Hutchinson, Connor)
2015/16 Willington 0 Billingham Town 1 (Lambert)

WILLINGTON LAST SIX HOME: WdLDDL
TOWN LAST SIX AWAY: WWWWLL

TALKING TOWN:
The major news for this week was the signing of Matty Garbutt from Stockton Town. The FA Vase finalist was a former Town winger in our division one days and he goes straight into the squad. Callum Hassan also joins the squad after his recent holiday. On the injury front, Mark Dixon is out along with Reece Kenney who probably won’t be risked for the remainder of the season. Stephen Jackson faces a fitness test. Elsewhere, Craig Hutchinson has now notched thirty seven goals for the season. Another marvellous achievement following his fifty nine goals he scored during season 2016/17 (2017/18 was with Newton Aycliffe).
