BILLINGHAM TOWN v TOW LAW TOWN PREVIEW

MATCH INFO:
Northern League Division Two
Saturday 26th February, Bedford Terrace, Kick Off 3:00pm.
Town: All Royal Blue
Tow Law: Black & White Shirts, Black Shorts.
Officials: Givi Todua, Callum Donnelly, Paul Charnock.

FOCUS ON THE LAW:
The Law have strengthened their squad of late with some eye catching signings, all with division one experience. Shaun Vipond (see below) and Chad Collins arrived at the same time: Collins is a winger from Whickham. Joshua Scott and Matthew Pennal both signed for Law a week before Vipond and Collins. Scott came from Newcastle Benfield while Pennal was at Newton Aycliffe and both are in good goal scoring form. Add on the physical strength of former Hartlepool United forward Callam Hassan and they have options upfront. Dale Milburn is a nippy winger of the Luke Hogan mould and defensively Dan Kirkup won’t be afraid to use his physical strength. This could be a tricky game for Town depending on which Tow Law turns up at Bedford Terrace!

ONE TO WATCH: SHAUN VIPOND
Former professional at Carlisle United. Moved to Blyth Spartans but suffered from a leg break and has played for various Northern League clubs since. Signed from Ashington in January. Central midfielder.

RECENT ENCOUNTERS:
2017/18 Billingham Town 3 Tow Law Town 1 (Blackburn, Kenney, Kerridge)
2016/17 Billingham Town 2 Tow Law Town 2 (Dickinson, Hutchinson)
2015/16 Billingham Town 5 Tow Law Town 2 (Hutchinson 2, Davis 2, Garton)

TOWN LAST 6 HOME: WWdDWL
LAW LAST 6 AWAY: LLWDWL

TALKING TOWN:
Both Brandon Kirkbride and Elliott Beddow return to the squad after a one match ban. Joe Carter will also be added after missing last weekends defeat. Ash Lavan and Stephen Oakley limped off the field last week against Durham City: Oakley will be out with a knee injury while Lavan only has an outside chance and will have a fitness test on Saturday. Stephen Jackson is ruled out with a foot injury and Jamie Davis was being assessed on Thursday night for a recurring groin strain. Goalkeeper, Ollie Simpson is also out injured. Kris Summers and Dan Flounders are likely to return in central defence and Beddow could start in the number ten role with Lavan and Davis carrying knocks. Matty Robinson is another option on the right hand side if Beddow does move into a central role. Either way, there will be significant changes to the side that lost to bottom club Durham City.
