WEST ALLOTMENT CELTIC v BILLINGHAM TOWN PREVIEW

MATCH INFO:
Northern League Division Two
Saturday 9th February, Druid Park, Woolsington, Kick Off 3:00pm.
West: Green & White Shirts, Green Shorts.
Town: All Royal Blue
Officials: Kevin McKitterick, Phil Clayton, Jack Herriot.

FOCUS ON WEST:
The squad is predominantly the same as the one that took part in the reverse fixture although new signing Shane Jones bagged a brace on his debut against Chester Le Street Town. With Michael Baxter, Matty Hayton and Regan Patterson in an attacking formation, they can cause problems for any team on their day. However, West have been erratic since October and their home form has significantly dipped of late until Thursday nights victory against Bedlington Terriers in the Northumberland Senior Cup. Town will also have to contend with the artificial surface which is not of the same quality compared to Stockton Town or Consett’s modern version. Two other names to keep an eye out for are the wonderfully named Bruno Mendes-Correia and Gilberto Chapim who once played in Angola for Progresso Sambizanga!

ONE TO WATCH: MICHAEL BAXTER
The Pantomime villain in the reverse fixture but he was a class act on the field during our 2-1 win. Baxter scored a fine individual goal and caught the eye throughout. Allotment’s top scorer for the season on 17 league goals.

TOWN LAST 6 AWAY: WWWWWW

TALKING TOWN:
Last week’s cancellation against Chester Le Street has allowed further recovery time for Mark Dixon who limped off during added on time in the Northallerton game. Jamie Davis will be classed as a short term absentee and is back in training but Reece Kenney is unlikely to be back before March at the earliest. The only other absentee will be Lee Moore who is away. Goalkeeper Sam Naylor who figured for Town in our first two league games of the season has signed for Easington Colliery and Danny Maddison has moved on from Redcar Athletic to Crook Town.
