After watching the Washington and Easington game today, it was a pleasure to see some positive attacking football from Washington. In Quinn upfront, they have a future star of the Northern League (or more) with the 16 year old putting Easington to the sword. It's taken a while but the display today from Washington was dominant; Washington played the best football, looked comfortable and apart from a couple of set pieces, they were never threatened by Easington. A great way to end a winless streak. Great effort by all.

Great result for Washington , there will be lots of twists and turns to come in the bottom half. Top 2 are sorted i think so hopefully they both get there reward with promotion and not just the 1 goes up. Best 2 in the division imo.

Not Birtley for sure.  I just cant see anyone catching Billingham and think Thornaby will just grab 2nd in front of Chester. Only an opinion tho.

Well one Teeside club is dominating the second division not sure Thornaby are in a dominating position but they are having a great season. No one will catch Billy Town they are a top half first division side in the second and are skating the league. Hope they can keep that side together or even add to it (personally I think they need some quicker defenders for div 1) and see how they do in Div 1 - do well with what they have now and if they add some quality at the back then the skys the limit

Still time for Chester to grab second spot also, plenty of games to be played, do you still have Northallerton and Thornaby to play in the league Cestrian?

We still have to go to Thornaby in mid feb (drew 0-0 at home) We have played Northallerton twice and beat them twice quite convincingly. However I don't think the points ratio needed for a second place club to go up is going to be attainable for any side so I cannot see anyone joining Billy town in div 1 next season from div 2.

Childish bitter comments, I hope we at CLS go up with no budget again unlike some teams in our area.

Wack CLS have never paid players for the past 5 seasons
We have a players pool, which we ourselves organise functions to top it up.

Might be hard to believe but lads want to play for CLS, none are interested in packets and we have a committee scraping every penny together for the clubhouse.
Again could it be that because your club spunks thousands a season to finish outside the promotion places make it hard for you to accept little Chester le street don't pay but can put together a very good side?

have to back the club captain up here. As the former club secretary I can confirm the players do not get a packet each week and monies is paid into a players pool which the players themselves control and run. A few years ago the club realised they could not afford the wages of the players each week which were going north at a rapid rate just to keep up, it was then decided the way forward was what we have in place now which has kept the club going with a fair amount of success. It seems that lads like to play for our club without demanding the extra fiver etc and lads keep coming back to play like the current club captain. We realise we have to put our faith in younger players hence the move to have a fantastic junior section that has given us some very good players at senior level who buy into the club philosophy. No brown envelopes in the socks after the game at CLS

No Budget at Birtley either. Players run own pool , whatever they put in they get out. It's not all about the money for some players as it is for others.
