Here's my report from today's Northern League Division 2 clash between Redcar Athletic and Easington Colliery where goals from Adam Preston (x2) and Gary Redman helped Redcar to a 3-1 win.

Better team throughout

We’re you at the same game or were you on the lash on the way to the game

In my opinion it was a very open first half and we took our chances although I’d say you were the better team.Second half I thought we controlled the game and did what we needed to do to beat a decent side... I’m sure Kev and Micky will have you rising up the table soon! The 6 and 8 for you are 2 very good players who I’d imagine you will struggle to keep hold of next season....

All the best for the rest the season.....

P.S your physio did well on the line

Have to say I can see why Connor would say he felt he thought Easington Colliery were the better team throughout but Gary Wood has it spot on. They just had the better of what was a brilliant 1st half to watch if you enjoy attacking football. But in the 2nd half we made a formation change which in the end made the difference as it changed the tempo of the game. Here we are 10th and 11th in Northern League Division 2 yet we served up between us a game worthy of several Leagues higher, in entertainment value. Best of luck to Easington Colliery for the rest of the season and Happy Christmas to you all for helping to provide an early present for the both set of fans watching today. :D

Having played with and against Lewi, I agree that he's got bags of talent, in the past maybe motivation was an issue. He seems to be enjoying his football again. Never really clicked at Billy Town or Thornaby, but certainly could play higher.
