Bishops first of two consecutive midweek cup ties tonight up at Consett.

I would more than happy if we managed to get through one of the two ties knowing how good a side Consett are and how tough a venue the new Belle Vue plastic has been for us. However we should go into these games with confidence high knowing we are a good side too!

Bishops played well first half and could well of been more than one goal ahead before Consetts equaliser. 2nd half Consett were the better side but couldn't really make out their goals due to the thick fog!

There doesn't seem much interest in this Cup at Consett, less half Saturdays attendance was there last night.

League Cup draw has been done via a live online broadcast for all rounds so far this season!

Similar situation at Ryhope CW there was 124 at the League game v Whitley Bay last Saturday but only 56 for the Cup tie against the same team last night

Sunderland were at home last night, and that always affects our attendances. But we appreciate the commitment of supporters on a very foggy cold night

Bishop should have been out of sight at half time, couple of good chances, blatant penalty turned down but only one team in it 2nd half as the away side tired badly and Ryder spat his dummy out and was subbed

Thing is this season is quite unique in the fact there are only 34 league games so more than any other season clubs can give cup competitions their full due without it really impacting on fixture backlogging.

To be fair Shaun ran the show first half, he was excellent again.

Totally agree and not sure what got him riled up as the foul he gave away which seemed to get him going was a clear foul.

Always liked Ryder when at our place

Now would we swap 2 minor cups for 3 points?
