As Connor stated in his report
Quote:
it is up to the league as to what will happen with the fixture.

Our game v Brandon has to be replayed . It was abandoned on 72 mins all square. I spoke to a League official on Saturday who was instant in his reply that ours would be replayed. Cant see this game being any different.

Strange a decision hasn't been made yet. You would think in the case of an abandonment there would be rules in place for a few different scenarios, rather than it coming down to a committee's discretion. Has there been a game in recent times whereby a team has been awarded 3 points without completing the game?

Too many variables to have a hard and fast rule. Eg. What was the scoreline? At what time was it abandoned? Is it a game towards the end of the season that won't affect promotion/relegation etc.

We had a game abandoned a few years ago against Whickham. We were winning 2-0 with 1 minute to play. We were awarded the win rather than told to replay. If I were a betting man I'd put my money on this one being replayed though.

I was under the impression that Durham FA sit on the decision, taking the officials report into account before the League have a right of appeal if they so judge it relevant.

If that’s not true I need to stop eating cheese before bed cos that’s a weird old dream!

Its at the discretion of the League from what i was told last Saturday when i asked after our game was abandoned. I think all mins have to be played now unless special circumstances , which i would imagine would be the likes of fixture chaos due to backlog of fixtures etc.

A team disputing the ruling of a league can take the issue to their county FA.

Many years ago, Tow Law were 3 down v Billingham Town when fog brought it to a halt.
Billy Town asked for the result to stand, Tow Law asked for a replay.
The League directed that the game should be replayed, Billy Town won the game, so justice was served.

Last season, Easington v Willington was abandoned, with the scores level.
Neither team could move up or down a League place & promotion/relegation was unaffected.
With the agreement of both teams, the League deemed the result could stand as a draw.

Personally, I think that there won't be an agreement between the 2 teams & its far too early to say that promotion/relegation won't be effected, so the game will be replayed.

As the late, great Brian Clough once said, "It only takes a second to score a goal".

In some countries if a game is abandoned only the remaining minutes are played at a later date. Even 2 minutes + stoppage time, which happened in Argentina a couple of years ago - 1-0 after 88 minutes and finished 1-2.
