Whitley Bay 2 Blyth Spartans 4

A hat trick of penalties from newly appointed captain Simon Heslop saw us progress against a lively Whitley Bay side.

It was a surreal atmosphere if the video is anything to go by. Very limited crowd due to the Covid-19 regs, absolutely lashing down with rain and both sides struggling to keep their feet at times with the slippy surface.

Never mind, a win is a win, and that's the first banana skin dealt with :D .

Let's see who awaits us next qualifying round though!

Next round away to Marske United.

A couple of pints in the Middle House, and then a slow saunter to the ground, followed by fish and chips in Saltburn. Well it would have been if ....

Bugger this COVID!

Well the “most famous non-league club in the world” is out of this season’s FA cup, beaten by a Yorkshire village side.

( PS I was born and brought up in the next town from Marske, so a tiny bit of me is a bit pleased that they won, but not that we lost. Hard to explain that logic though )
