After Wallsend have came back into the league, it looks like this -

Billingham FC
Bishop Auckland Reserves
Blackhill & Ebchester
Durham City Reserves
Sherburn Village WMC
Sunderland Hall Farm
Wallsend Town
West Auckland WMC
Wheatley Hill WMC

Wheatley Hill will be there at the end. Always struggle midweek but get full squads on Sats. No midweeks will be a blessing for that old fox Sammy

Pre season friendlies are never a true barometer of how things will pan out once the season gets under way. Most teams will have players missing this time of year through holidays etc and results are quite meaningless Pre season games are purely workouts to increase fitness levels.

Have i got the West Auckland club name wrong or something?

I've got it down as West Auckland WMC, when it isnt according to Twitter - its more West Auckland FC

The West Auckland in the Northern League is West Auckland Town FC

I played in the Alliance last season and enjoyed the football.

I beggars belief though how two leagues can become one and dwindle from 20 member clubs to 9 in a year. I recall playing in it when it was the Washington League and absorbed the North West Durham combination. That saw a two division league for a while and then one big, strong division.

It really does not look like a healthy situation now.

Bigcbeat's overview of the situation has a real value. New teams coming in as successful teams go up would really freshen the league up.

I also feel the weaker teams were frowned upon by elements of the league management committee as being too weak. Surely, right now a 9 team league would welcome those weak teams with open arms...

Another issue was the allocation of fixtures at short notice.

All in all, its a shame.

It is a shame. As i said earlier if it was a buisness the Man or Woman at the top would be sacked or do the right thing and resign. It wont happen though. Im sorry but its a shambles.
