It is with regret that today AFC Fylde announces the departure of First-Team manager Jim Bentley.

Bentley joined the club in October 2019 after a 17-year association with Morecambe. Much of Jim’s first two seasons at the club were affected by the Covid-19 pandemic, leading to the curtailment of football at National League and National League North Level.

Despite a promising start to this campaign, a recent run of poor form has left the Coasters off the pace and heading in the wrong direction, so after Tuesday’s defeat to York City, it was decided a change was needed.

Club Chairman and Owner David Haythornthwaite said: “These things are never easy, and Jim is a true gentleman and someone I have great respect for as an individual, so yesterday’s conversation was difficult but one we had to have.

“I want to thank Jim for all his efforts while at the Club and wish him all the best for the future. In the meantime, Nick Chadwick and Andy Taylor will take over on an interim basis, starting with this Saturday’s game against Bradford (Park Avenue) AFC.”

The Club will make no further comment at this stage.

No patience at all from some of these arrogant chairmen.
Want instant success by waving their bulging wallets.
Far bigger clubs below them I'd rather see work their way up without a sugar daddy.
We have a decent Chairman who gives managers a chance.

We are sorry to announce the departure of manager Peter Taylor.

The club is, however, grateful to Peter for all his hard work with a youthful squad since taking up the role in September 2021.

A new manager will be appointed in the next 24 hours in preparation for our away fixture in the Vanarama National League South on Tuesday (15/03/2022) against Hampton and Richmond Borough.

We are delighted to announce the appointment of former Northern Ireland international, Warren Feeney as manager until the end of the season.

Feeney joins after leaving Bulgarian First League side, OFC Pirin in December 2021, where he guided them to a club record 13 consecutive wins on their way to the 2020/21 Second League title.

He is a UEFA Pro licensed coach with over 20 years experience in the game and has also held non-playing positions at Newport County, Linfield, Ards, Salisbury City, Crawley Town and Notts County.

We wish Warren all the best and hope his time at Park View Road will be successful.

His first game in charge will be tomorrow night’s trip to Hampton and Richmond Borough (15/03/2022), kick off at 7:45pm.
