Wow, we've already got someone leaving their job!

Blyth Spartans can confirm that manager Terry Mitchell has departed club with immediate effect.

The club would like to place on record its thanks to Terry for his efforts – namely last season’s successful battle against relegation as well as our victory in the Northumberland Senior Cup – and wish him the very best for the future.

The club will be making no further comment at this time.

If he was pushed its a bad move from blyth, barely been given a chance

Following his departure from the club, Terry Mitchell has released the following statement:

“It’s been an absolute honour to manage Blyth Spartans. I’ve enjoyed every minute of it and want to thank everyone behind the scenes at the club, there’s some fantastic volunteers from top to bottom.

I’m really proud of helping keep the football club in the league last season, and winning the Northumberland Senior Cup for the club.

Last of all, and the most important thing, the fans have been absolutely top drawer. From the minute I walked in, and still now. They’re fantastic supporters, through thick and thin they stick with the team, and I just want to say a massive thank you.”

Blyth Spartans AFC can confirm that Assistant Manager Graeme Coulson has left the club to join Newcastle United’s Academy staff.

Coulson joined the club as part of manager Terry Mitchell’s coaching staff having been part of the gaffer’s backroom team at Consett AFC.

While at Consett, he helped Mitchell to guide the club to the 2020 FA Vase Final at Wembley.

He joins Newcastle United’s Academy to coach the U15s side, with his schedule now meaning he is unfortunately unable to continue his role at Spartans.

Fenton returns to Croft Park, having been a player/assistant, making 131 appearances and scoring 18 goals, as well as having a brief spell as caretaker manager back in 2004.

Tony will be assisted by current goalkeeping coach Paul Musselwhite and former Iron defender Michael Nelson, who was most recently assistant manager at Hartlepool United.

Boston United can confirm that they have parted company with first team manager Paul Cox.

Paul leaves the Jakemans Community Stadium after a seven-and-a-half month reign, which peaked with an exciting promotion final appearance in May. Sadly, the current campaign has not got off to the start that we would have hoped, resulting in a seven-match winless run.

Ian Culverhouse has been appointed as the club's new first team manager.

Ian will assume control at the Jakemans Community Stadium having previously guided King’s Lynn Town to back-to-back promotions in 2019 and 2020.

His last managerial role was with Kettering Town, where he succeeded Paul in January, before resigning in May after guiding the Poppies to the cusp of the play-offs.

The Pilgrims would like to thank Paul and his backroom staff for all their hard work and wish them well for the future.

There will be more coverage of Ian's appointment as the week progresses towards the new manager's first match in charge against Alfreton Town on Saturday.

Just to add, didn't see this about Oldham's manager leaving -
---
15th September

Oldham Athletic can confirm that, following discussions with manager and club legend John Sheridan, it has today been agreed that the time is right for him to step aside.

Having had the chance to assess where the club is at and what changes are required, both the Board and John feel that someone else is needed to take on the major challenge of restoring the club’s fortunes on the field.

To allow him the send-off he deserves and to give fans the opportunity to show their appreciation, John has agreed to take charge for one last time at our home match with Eastleigh on Saturday.

We would place on record our thanks to John for his efforts. He came out of retirement in January because he felt a sense of duty to try and keep the club in the EFL.

20th September

Oldham Athletic are thrilled to announce the appointment of David Unsworth as the club’s new first-team manager.

Arriving at Boundary Park on a three-year contract, the 48-year-old joins Latics having spent eight years at Everton, where his work in charge of the U23s team has seen him establish a magnificent pedigree as a highly-respected, modern coach.

The former defender, who enjoyed a distinguished playing career at Goodison Park spanning more than a decade, also stepped in to manage the Everton first team on an interim basis in 2016 and 2017.
